3/14/07 After leaving Cranston East, I went to Providence College (rooming with classmate Arnie Kirchenbaum for a year). I was accepted to the Brown University Medical School. I specialized in Ophthalmology (eye surgery) at Tufts in Boston and have been practicing in Milford and Wellesley, Massachusetts since 1984. I have been happily married since 1974. My wife is Sr. Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Boston. My daughter is graduated from Boston College and my son is attending Brown University. Computer technology is a hobby of mine. The reason I wanted to put the website together is to interest others in staying in touch with former classmates and to get people on board with upcoming reunions. (I hope it works!). I had a bit of a setback this year. I was diagnosed with cancer of the appendix in November, 2006. Some pretty grueling surgery was needed along with some chemotherapy. I've lost a lot of weight and have been out of work for several months. Things are looking up now however and I expect to be back to full steam by the Fall. The cards and good wishes from all have been a tremendous source of strength and support during this time. 9/21/26 It's twenty years later since my last note, and I am doing fine except for some aches and pains associated with aging. My wife has retired, and I have three grandchildren now, which keep us busy at times. I continue to work one to two days a week. We make our home in Wellesley. We spend our free time at a lake house in Maine, where we enjoy family time, water sports, and bocce. I did a redesign of the website this year, as it was originally made in 2003. If you have any comments or suggestions about the website, please don't hesitate to drop me a line at ernie@chse1971.com. Management of the site is much easier with the new AI assisting tools. wakesurfing at the lake
