Gary Scott Holt, 60, of Kennesaw, GA, died Friday, December 27th, 2013.
He was born in Providence, RI on March 26, 1953. Gary graduated from Cranston High School East in 1971. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1975 where he remained until honorably discharged in 1980. Gary graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 1987 with a degree in Information Systems.
Over the years Gary enjoyed indulging in his love for photography. He worked for Stratus Technologies in Marlborough, MA until he received a promotion as a Technical Account Manager and was transferred to GA in 1998. Gary volunteered his time on the Georgia State Defense Force because of his intense patriotism and was a member of the Cobb County Republican party. He also believed wholeheartedly that one person can make a difference. More recently, his accomplishments included fulfilling his lifelong dream of acting through parts as an extra in various films.
The most important thing to Gary was always his family. He raised his daughters to believe that they needed to rely on one another because in the end family was all they had. Gary often called his daughters to tell them how proud he was of who they were and what they had accomplished. There was never any room for doubt about how he felt about them.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Holt of Kennesaw, GA; Connie’s daughter Morgan Holt; his daughters, Kerri Holt Horton of Marquette, KS and her boys Kenny, Jonathon and Perry; Sue Holt Singh of Atlanta, GA and her son Luke Chase; a sister Gala Holt of Venice, FL; and nieces and nephews. Mr. Holt is preceded in death by his mother, Astrid Holt and father, Leroy Holt as well as a brother, Bruce Holt.
Gary will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He touched many lives over the years.
